Friday!

 

1. I got these awesome boots for $11.24 from JustFab.com.  I have been looking for a cute pair of wide calf boots that didn't cost over $40 for forever. Win!    2. I updated our chalkboard wall this week for football season. I'm not going to lie, I squealed and took a screenshot when the Tennessee Titans Instagram liked my picture. ;)   3. My sweet baby sister felt like I was competent enough to help her with her resume and cover letter for an internship application.  Not to toot my own horn, but I'm resume champ. Love her! (Ignore the mushy mush in the green. ;) )

 

4.

One of the three musketeers (the one on the right) is moving to Texas in October.  I cry everytime I think about it, but I am taking it as a chance to throw a party for her.  I love throwing parties, and this is the perfect excuse! 

 

 5. This handsome man's birthday is tomorrow.  This is the tenth birthday we have spent together, and every year I love him more and more.  I have planned breakfast in bed, helping dad capture and take kittens to the humane society (that one has no significance to his birthday, I just promised Dad. haha), maybe some exploring, presents, and then dinner at the cheesecake factory (where he has never been?!)!

Weekend Update!

Happy Tuesday! I feel like it has been forever since I blogged or talked to anyone. Thank heavens for long weekends.    Friday, I worked and then came home. I didn't do much Friday night except for rest.  It was much needed.  I worked on one of the three polos I'm embroidering for the pre-school at church.

Jackson went to the church lockin with the mindset that he was not staying all night. 6AM when he was crawling into bed.....   Saturday, I woke up early to go with my parents to move my sister into her dorm in Chattanooga.  I sent pictures to Jackson all day to make sure he was included in the fun of the coffee, carsickness, campus and lunch.

   Sunday was my daddy's birthday. We went to lunch at Cracker Barrel where I beat this guy at Checkers.  okay, I'm lying. I hadn't played checkers in ages, so we had a lot of fun. :)  

 

and last but not least... I had my interview yesterday. It was great.  I was interviewed by three ladies who all said they were impressed that I was so calm in my interview.  She said she could tell I was a people person and that I was confident.  phew! I'm glad that anticipation is over... now to wait to hear back!

Confessions...

This week, I confess....   .... My daddy and two of my best friends have birthdays in the next seven days.  EEK! Dad wants a Wal-Mart gift card. Sometimes I just can't even deal with this man. I hate giving gift cards.     .... people who buy things on eBay that are described as "new with damage" and even have pictures of the damage, who leave negative feedback when receiving the item..... They're not my favorite people.

  ... I have my first dentist appointment in over two years in a couple of weeks. ew, I know. I am 100% nervous and dealing with serious pre-dentist anxiety.  He may seriously have to knock me out to do a cleaning.  I know I have a cavity or two, too, so that adds to the anxiety.  

  .... We cleaned our little tails off on Saturday and now our apartment feels huge.  Really. Everything has a place (except for the piles on the kitchen table) and the floor has vacuum lines. Now if I can only get the space bags to stay deflated....     ... Also, I stumbled upon this gif while confessing and remembered how heartbroken I am that Robin Williams is gone.  Really.  Hook, Mrs. Doubtfire, Dead Poets' Society, Jumanji... none of them will ever be the same.   ... We are itching for a pet. A baby puppy is out of the question because of our work schedules and how much attention they need.  However, a kitten may work. ;)     ... My sister moves back to Chattanooga this week.  I'm bummed because I hardly got any time to spend with her this summer.  Work makes life hectic, and it kinda (really) sucks.  I feel very Anna and Elsa, and I'm so not afraid to admit it.     .... There is a wedding on our calendar every weekend in October.  Our bank account is just recovering from the wedding mess this summer!!

 

Our Wedding: Meet The Maids

Happy Wedding Wednesday! I'm so excited to be recapping one of my favorite parts of my wedding - my bridesmaids!! I had the best group of girls, full of newer friends, old friends, and family! My Maid of Honor was my sister, Cameron. She, yes, was chosen because she was my sister, but because she is also one of my best friends.  She knows me inside and out, likes, dislikes, ups, downs, bests and worsts, and the list goes on and on.    Next was Alex. Alex and I met my freshman year of college.  I used to drive the 86 miles from Cookeville to Murfreesboro to go to Jackson's college ministry on Thursday nights, get up on Fridays at 4am, drive 86 miles back to Cookeville for class, and turn around and drive 95 miles home for the weekend.  Alex was in this college ministry.  She was lovely from the beginning - accepting, encouraging, uplifting, etc.  When I moved to Murfreesboro, she was at our apartment 24/7.  We quickly became wonderful friends!

Next was Brittney. Brittney and I met when I started attending Jackson's church.  As children, Brittney and Jackson "dated" and she broke up with him to remain friends for the rest of their lives.  When I started going to church with him, I got to know the girl I had always heard so much about, and we became best friends at camp.  She has always been my prayer that is one text away, my encouragement during breakups and getting-back-togethers, the falling out of other friendships, drama that comes with highschool and college.  She has been a rock for me since Senior year of High School and I am so thankful for our long friendship! I can't wait to stand by her on her wedding day in May!

Next was Taylor.  Taylor and I met much the same way that Alex and I did.  When I chose to move to MTSU, I needed a roommate and Taylor was quick to call! From day one of living together, we were inseparable.  We finished each other's sentences, we could literally do the "telepathy" thing, and we swore we were twins.  Taylor has been my strength during our struggle with purity, she has been the shoulder to cry on, the late night library partner, the second closet, the praying sister.  She is the Meredith to my Cristina, my person.  I can't wait to stand next to her on her wedding day as her Matron of Honor in June!!

Next was Hamlin. Hamlin and I met in fifth grade.  We were great friends. We played soccer together in Middle and High School, but life took us down different paths; our year at Tennessee Tech University brought us right back together like we had never missed a beat.  I have watched her grow from someone who had only heard bad things about God into a beautiful daughter of the King.  My last year of college, we became roommates as well, and we became the best of friends! She is my oldest friend and I am so thankful for her friendship!!

Last, but not least, was Hope. Hopie and I met when Taylor asked me to be roommates with them.  They have been friends for the same amount of time that Hamlin and I have been friends.  Hope has been the realist when my head is in the clouds, the late night movie watching partner, the workout instructor (sorry for telling you I hated you a million times...), the most understanding and non-judging friend I have ever had.  I have watched her grow into a beautiful God-loving young woman despite the curves that life has thrown her.  I am so thankful for her presence in my life and for our friendship!

My Junior Bridesmaid was Izabelle. Izabelle is Jackson's cousin's daughter.  I have known her the shortest amount of time, but I was so blessed to have her stand by my side! She was there with great stories when my mind was overwhelmed, she was there to laugh and to love with everyone else! I love her sweet personality and I am so blessed to be a part of their family, now.

  My sweet Flower Girl was Peyton. Peyton is my cousin's daughter.  I have known Peyton since she was born and I have really watched her grow into her personality.  She is sassy, loving, and encouraging without even knowing it.  She was literally the funniest part of my wedding party, and she knew it!

   

Weekend Recap

Our weekend was (and please tell me we're not the only ones that have these) not restful, not rejuvenating, and busy!

It's Monday and it feels like a Wednesday I'm so exhausted.

le sigh.

Friday, Jackson got home and we ate dinner (stay tuned for delicious Breakfast Casserole recipe later this week).  We watched the Croods on Netflix; SUCH a cute movie!! I spent most of the night working on our wedding album so I can order it from Shutterfly! I am so addicted to their photo books it's not even funny.  But for the most part, I had the longest most exhausting Friday at work ever, so it was good to unwind.

 

Saturday, was my sweet little sister's birthday. We went to the movies and she chose to see Son of God.  Can we just take a second to talk about how intense that movie is? Wonderful, but intense.  Then we ate at our favorite Mexican restaurant for Lunch.


Sunday, Jackson woke up not feeling too hot, so he slept in and I went to church.  We met his mama and daddy for lunch, and then we went to the grocery and to return some stuff that we had buyers remorse about. haha. There was a baby shower at church Sunday, and I was overly excited about the adorable gift bag and card I got for baby Maddux.

High Five for Five on Friday!

I had a nightmare last night that we skipped the weekend and went from Thursday to Monday.

Needless to say, I'm so thankful for a Friday and a weekend!

1.

Monday, I went to the DMV and got my new license with my new name.  Can we just talk about how much my face has changed since I was 18? Four years have not been kind to me! Anyway, it is so weird to see my license with my new last name on it. And believe it or not, it took me longer to get to the DMV than it did to wait in line!! And the lady was pleasant. All around win, if you ask me!

 

2.

Tuesday, I got to celebrate my sweet Boomer's Adoption Day. Yes, I'm that person and I'm not sorry. He came to us three years ago after a big big storm and we adopted him after I accidentally-on-purpose fed him and he wouldn't go away.  The top left picture shows what he looked like when he came to us.  He was matted, yucky, and timid.  We came to learn that he had been abused and neglected before he came to us.  His story is soon to come, I promise. :) 

 

3.

My sweet husband has been blessed to be able to go in to work early twice this week. Sure, he has to get up early early, but he is off work and home when I get there.  I loved spending afternoons with him this week.  I may have gotten a little too used to it, though, because knowing that today he's working until 7 just stinks.

 

4.

My sister and I went to see Sister Act at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.  I wasn't really looking forward to it, but the play was GREAT! All of them had incredible voices and it was hilarious.  We had a great sister night until I twisted my ankle on my stupid wedges and bit the street with my knee. Owwie.  We're having a funeral for my favorite pair of dress pants later this week.

 I'm working on getting wedding picture prints ordered to frame and hang.  I can't wait to have them hanging in our home!! :)
